Unique Custom Leather Belts, Hat-bands, and Leather Goods

As a cowboy boot collector for the last 12 years I have found it hard to find belts in the styles or color combinations to match the boots I was collecting. I also teach line-dancing and like to stand out in front of the class I am teaching. To resolve this problem I started making belts. The fashion world (or even my honky tonk world) does not live on black and brown belts alone! Not that there is anything wrong with black or brown belts, I'll make those too if you want as you will see in my style listings. But I love nice vibrant colors! Don't be afraid to stand out! Or keep it as subtle and subdued as you want.
I make each belt completely by hand to your design request or exactly as shown here on my site if that is what you want. You're the boss.....I just do the belt making for you. If you want a plain belt...no problem. If you want your favorite saying, name, or initials stamped on it.....no problem. Want a fancy tooled design that will be unique to you? No problem! Want some bling-bling? Then how about a belt with rhinestone studs or fancy conchos. Just tell me what you want and I'll put together a custom quote for you. Got a buckle already that you want to use? No problem. Or you can select from the choices of buckles and buckle sets that I can get for you that are shown on this site. If you only need the buckle and not a belt....I'll be happy to sell you just a buckle.
All belts are hand tooled, stamped, and painted by me personally. All belts are made out of 8 to 9 ounce top grade double shoulder leather. That's the toughest part of the hide with the least amount of stretch to insure years of durable wear. All edges of belts are dyed and finished. Backs are nice and smooth.
Some basic pricing:
Plain 1 color belt with brass or nickel plated non-western style buckle: $35
Make that 2 colors with tooled borders between the colors: $45
Single color belt with up to 8 letters or characters stamped on it: $50
Make that 2 colors with up to 8 letters or characters: $60
Standard additional charges:
Add $15 for tapered ends.
Add $15 for barbwire borders around names, $10 for borders around initials
Add listed cost of any western buckle or trophy buckle from my site to replace the plain D or square type brass or nickel plated buckle (unless style shown notes with buckle that is shown).
Shipping charge of $12 for single belt via USPS Priority mail.
Hatbands: $35 and up
Sizing:
Each belt made to the belt size that you tell me. Most peoples belt size is usually 3 to 4 inches longer than their pant waist size is. You can take a belt you wear and measure from the tongue tip of the buckle (the tip end (not hinge end) of the bar that goes thru the holes in the belt) to the hole that the belt is comfortable on you to determine this measurement. I will make the belt so that size will be the circumference of the belt when buckled in the center hole of 5 holes that I will make in the tongue (billet) end of the belt. If supplying your own buckle I will need measurements from that buckle too in order to make the correct size belt. No refunds will be given based on incorrect fit if you provide me with the belt size you want when you order. If I measure you myself and get it wrong, then I'll eat it and do it again for free. You would need to come to my shop for me to take a measurement, or send me a belt that fits you noting which hole, if you can not determine that sizing yourself. It's really pretty simple.
Other Leather Goods:
After seeing some of my belts many customers asked if I could make them wallets or other personal items. The answer to that is yes! I can make all kinds of personal items from leather. From wallets, purses, handbags, checkbook covers, and personal secretaries, to wristbands, pins, barrettes, and flowers. Even things for motorcycles like gas tank bibs, or artwork that can be framed, or wine racks to hang on your wall or a collar for your dog. If I can get a picture of it, I can probably put it on leather for you. Most of what I do is custom work so I can't show it all here, but please check the links at the top of the page for samples of some of what I can do. Get a personalized gift for that someone special or yourself. Something with their name, initials, or picture of something they (or you) like. Great for Fathers day, Mothers day, Birthdays, Christmas, or to memorialize some special event or day. There are always new things I am working on and if you don't see something, just ask me and I'll let you know if I can do it. The only thing I will not do is gun holsters. I just don't like guns or working with them. Other than that, anything goes. Cell phone and I-phone cases, ID cases, money clips, eyeglass cases, leather feathers, roses, sunflowers, orchids, guitar straps, flasks, tooling for boot tops, motorcycle seat tooling, key cases, book marks, drink coozies....and the list goes on and on.
Tooling leather is a time consuming art and each item is unique. This should be remembered when asking for pricing as many items require several hours of work and may include time for drawing up any designs needed if it is not one of my standard patterns. Structural design time may be involved as well if it is a totally custom item. I assure you though, that any item I make for you will be a high quality, unique item that you will not see anywhere else, and will last far longer than any factory made item (if you can get a factory to make it just how you want it!).
Payment and ordering:
Order via Emailing me at wayne@learnedcustomleather.com what style you would like, including the buckle desired. Please include your measurement for the belt as well, as determined above. For custom designs, please Email me your ideas and I'll work with you to come up with a quote. 50% deposit is required before any belt is started. Payment via Money order or personal checks only at this time. Personal checks must clear before work is started. Balance of payment required before belt will ship. I can Email you a picture of the belt when completed for your approval so you know when to send the balance. Or you can pay it all up front if you want. Standard shipping charges are noted above. Turn around time to make most belts is 1 to 3 weeks from receipt of deposit.
